THE SPIRIT WHO MOVED ME
Spirit was one of two girls I held onto from Maybell's "Memories of Moxie" litter (named for their grandmother who passed away just as they were conceived). Because it was Maybell's last litter, I was afraid I would keep the wrong girl, which is why I decided to hold onto both and grow them up. Well, three years later, both are still here and I still can't decide!
Although her sister Pluck was the bigger girl with the gorgeous headpiece, Spirit is that perfect package. At 6 weeks of age, she threw a freestack out in the yard that took my breath away, and I knew this girl would be the showgirl. With her beautiful front, rear and body, she's got it all going on, and a spirited personality made her a star in the show ring, finishing easily with 4 majors.
Spirit is a compact tank who is built to move, and move she does. This girl has plenty of energy! She is happy, happy, happy and always trying to make me laugh. But in her soul, she is still that same sweet, soft girl her grandmother was. She is actually quite submissive and is happy to let other girls lead the pack. Spirit prefers instead to be the class clown.
Spirit has free-whelped two litters to date and been a great mother to her charges. She was also willing to foster several puppies from Bronx's last litter and it was wonderful to watch those two girls co-parent two litters together. In no other way does she resemble her grandma Moxie more than in the whelping box.
